Getting help

The fastest way to reach a person is email: support@pimkin.app. It goes straight to the person who builds Pimkin, not a queue.

Pimkin is made by one developer, so replies are usually within a day or two rather than within minutes. If something is broken and blocking you, say so in the subject line and it gets looked at first.

Reporting a problem from inside the app

Every version of Pimkin has a Send Feedback option — in the sidebar, in the mobile menu, and under Help on the desktop app. It is the best way to report a bug, because it attaches the app version and platform automatically and saves you describing them.

If an error screen appears, it offers a “Tell us what happened” link that starts a report for you. It includes the type of error, never the contents of your messages.

Trouble connecting an account

Pimkin connects to accounts you already have. If one will not connect, the usual causes are a provider requiring an app-specific password, two-factor authentication needing to be completed in a browser first, or an IMAP or CalDAV server on a non-standard port.

Settings → Accounts shows each connected account with its current status and the last error the provider returned, which is usually the quickest way to see what went wrong. If the message is not clear, send it to us and we will tell you what it means.

Your data, and getting it back out

Pimkin is a client. Your mail, calendars, contacts, and tasks live with your providers, and Pimkin holds a synced copy so it can search and work offline. Disconnecting an account under Settings → Accounts deletes that copy, and — where the provider supports it — revokes access upstream.

Deleting your Pimkin account removes your data from the service. Because nothing was ever migrated away from your providers, there is nothing to export and nothing to lose: your accounts carry on exactly as before.

How data is handled in detail is on the Privacy page, in the same plain language as this one.

Reporting a security issue

Security reports go to support@pimkin.app with “security” in the subject, and are read before anything else.

Please give enough detail to reproduce the issue, and give us a reasonable window to fix it before publishing. Good-faith reports are welcome and will not be met with legal threats.
