This agreement
Pimkin is operated by ganshiki. These terms cover the hosted service at app.pimkin.app, this website, and the Pimkin desktop and installable web apps — together, “Pimkin”.
By creating an account or using Pimkin, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Pimkin.
Your account
You need an account to use Pimkin. You must be at least 16 years old, and the information you give us must be accurate.
Your account is secured with a passkey or another sign-in method you choose. Keep it safe — you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@pimkin.app if you believe someone else has access to it.
The accounts you connect
Pimkin is a client, not a mail or calendar server. It works by connecting to accounts you already have — Gmail, Microsoft 365, IMAP, CalDAV, CardDAV — and acting on them at your instruction.
You must have the right to connect each account. When you connect one, you authorize Pimkin to sign in to it on your behalf, sync its contents, and make the changes you ask for — sending, filing, flagging, deleting, creating events. Pimkin does not act on your accounts for any purpose you have not asked for.
Your provider’s own terms keep applying to your account with them. Pimkin does not control your provider, is not responsible for their outages, policy changes, or decisions about your account, and cannot restore data your provider removes.
You can disconnect any account at any time from Settings. Disconnecting stops the sync, deletes the synced copy Pimkin holds, and — where the provider supports it — revokes Pimkin’s access upstream. The original mailbox, calendar, or address book stays with your provider, untouched.
Acceptable use
Use Pimkin lawfully and for its purpose: working with your own accounts. Do not use it to send unsolicited bulk mail, to harass or defraud, to distribute malware, or to break any law that applies to you.
Do not try to reach another user’s data, probe or disrupt the service, work around rate limits or access controls, or resell access to Pimkin. Pimkin is not open source — do not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute it except where that right cannot be excluded by law.
The apps
The desktop and installable apps are licensed to you, not sold. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to run them for your own use while these terms are in force. ganshiki keeps all other rights.
The desktop app updates itself so security fixes reach you. Updates are cryptographically signed; installing them is part of normal use.
Optional AI features
Pimkin offers optional AI features such as inbox triage and message summaries. They are off by default and do nothing until you turn them on.
Turning them on sends the relevant message content — sender, subject, and a length-limited excerpt of the body — to Anthropic’s API to produce the result. Your passwords, tokens, and attachment files are never sent, and your data is not used to train any model. Turn the features off and that stops. See the Privacy page for detail.
Availability and changes
Pimkin is provided on a best-effort basis. There is no uptime guarantee, and features may be added, changed, or removed as the product develops. We will give reasonable notice before removing something you rely on, where we can.
Because Pimkin is a client, an outage does not put your mail out of reach — it continues to live with your providers and stays available through their own apps.
What it costs
Pimkin is currently provided free of charge. If paid plans are introduced, we will give you clear notice beforehand, and you will never be charged without agreeing to a price first.
Ending it
You can stop using Pimkin whenever you like and delete your account from Settings. Deleting it removes your synced data and disconnects your accounts.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we are legally required to act on, or that is being used in a way that endangers the service or other people. Where circumstances allow, we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right.
No warranty
Pimkin is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, ganshiki makes no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that the service will meet your requirements.
Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, ganshiki is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost business, or lost or corrupted data arising from your use of Pimkin.
Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose. Pimkin syncs a copy of data that lives with your providers; it is not a backup service and is not a substitute for one.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the product does. When a change is material, we will update the date at the top of this page and give notice in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Pimkin after that means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute — without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
